|Incentive Payments and Payment Adjustments|
Incentive Payments Ended in 2014
Individual EPs who met the criteria for satisfactory submission of PQRS quality measures data via one of the accepted reporting mechanisms for services furnished during the 2013 reporting period qualified to earn an incentive payment.
The incentive payment equaled 0.5% of their total estimated Medicare Part B PFS allowed charges for covered professional services furnished during that same reporting period.2014 was the final year where EPs could earn an incentive payment under PQRS.
Beginning in 2015, PQRS applies a -1.5% payment adjustment to EPs who do not satisfactorily report data on quality measures for covered professional services during the 2013 PQRS program year.
In 2016, a penalty adjustment of -2% will be based on the 2014 performance year.
In 2017, a penalty adjustment of -2% will be based on the 2015 performance year.
