ISIS Joins-in on a Letter to CMS Decrying the Burden of Multiple Regulations

ISIS joined a number of medical societies to voice concerns about an overwhelming number of regulations affecting physician practices. The current regulations will require physicians to spend significant time and resources to adopt the ICD-10 code set, implement electronic health record systems, meet "meaningful use" standards, fulfill the Medicare ePrescribing program requirements and participate in the Physician Quality Reporting System—all within a short period. CMS should synchronize all these programs as well as establish exemption categories that protect physicians who are facing hardships. Additionally a strong appeals process should be created for those who are incorrectly penalized after they meet the programs' requirements. To view the letter, please click here.
