ISIS Working with CDC Officials to Address the Single Dose Vial Issue

Posted By Administration, Tuesday, July 10, 2012

ISIS Leadership has been participating in conference calls with CDC officials to discuss the guideline suggesting that single dose vials are not to be used on multiple patients. Both CDC and ISIS put patient safety as the number one goal and are committed to decreasing and eliminating infections related to spinal injections. However, ISIS has communicated to the CDC that the financial impact of this particular mandate, due to the lack of availability of reasonably priced smaller volume vials, is a major concern for ISIS and its members. We are committed to working with the CDC to assure patient safety while providing our members with education and reasonable options to lower the incidence of infections related to spinal injections. Please look for additional information on this issue in future ISIS communications and on the ISIS website.
