CMS and the AMA RUC Prepare for the Fourth Five Year Review of Code Values

Posted By Administration, Wednesday, January 25, 2012

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has published a list of codes which will need to undergo a review of work relative value units (RVUs) assigned to them; as part of the Congressionally-mandated Five-Year Review of values.  There are several codes related to interventional spine care on the list.

Just as with the last 5-Year Review, ISIS has representatives working with the AMA RUC, CMS and other specialties to represent ISIS members in this process.

Please keep in mind that whenever you receive surveys of physician work involved in specific procedures - it is very important that you help in assuring proper values are assigned to each code, by filling out those surveys
