Welcome!

On behalf of founding members, Charles Aprill, Radiology, Nikolai Bogduk, Professor of Anatomy, and Richard Derby, Anesthesiology, we welcome your interest in the International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS).

ISIS was conceived in 1989 during a spine meeting, when discussions began about the trials and tribulations facing physicians who practiced spine intervention procedures. We understood all to well the difficulty in obtaining efficacy based research, education and guidelines. The resources available to us were few, and it seemed hands-on training was rare if at all possible.

This is why ISIS was formed, originally as a small study group for physicians to interact through and now a non-profit medical society dedicated to research, education, guidelines, and extended training. The organization provides quarterly publications that are an excellent source of information, research, news, and an opportunity to publish original work.

We conduct intensive, hands-on cadaver workshops that focus on all aspects of therapeutic & diagnostic spine procedures. The workshops are classified by techniques and skill level. The Annual Meeting held in the summer each year shares the latest findings in our field. We produce educational and instructive videotapes and DVD’s and has syllabi and books from past meetings and workshops available.

ISIS members are from multiple specialties, a wonderful cross section of physicians ranging from the masters to the inexperienced, all seeking the same objective, to learn. The latest research is shared with members and multi-facility research projects are often arranged by interested parties.

The membership is growing rapidly, and we are very excited about the future. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Jordon Moncrief
Chief Operating Officer
